A lovely and thought provoking read Deborah - I'm just sorry it took me so long to get to it =)
I think creativity is fuelled by different things for different people but for me calmness and inner peace is a major contributing factor.
As you love the coast, I feel energised by a mountain and river landscape. I am at my happiest next to a stream in a Scotch pine forest - preferably with a dusting of snow. Just thinking of it now and I can feel my inner self smile and relax.
I hope one day to return to my happy place but for now I must be content with finding places of quiet here in Australia (not that easy a task unfortunately).
All that is to say, I totally and one hundred percent agree with you - calmness certainly does 'facilitate creativity' For me anyway =)

Thank you so much for reading Caroline, and for taking the time to comment!
That image of a Scotch pine forest with a dusting of snow is magical :-) It would certainly make me feel calm too!
Perhaps on your way back to your happy place someday, you'll stop by here on your way, and we can catch up over a hot coffee in a cosy bookshop.
Wishing you a lovely weekend x
That would be wonderful Deborah - coffee and a cosy bookshop catch up sounds perfect 🙂
